Time and again, I see people who want to start a blog, so they go out and buy a domain name and then install WordPress. They find a free theme that looks kind of like what they want their site to look like and install that. And that’s it. There’s no other work done to make their site unique.
I love working with WordPress. It has a lot of flexibility and allows you to do many things to extend what it can do. But you have to know what you’re doing and be able to code the extra functionality. Unfortunately, many people don’t know (or care to know) php, javascript or even CSS. But that’s OK.
